Peugeot Launches New Commercial Vehicles Business Centres

Growing van sales have prompted 123 of Peugeot’s 320 dealerships to enrol as business centres, specialising in light commercial vehicles and fleet.

The centres aim to provide customers with a range of services, including vehicle conversion or adaptation for commercial use.

Road Safety Bill to influence LPG vans

Further to the information we posted about conversions to LPG friendly vehicles, it seems that the Road Safety Bill, published by the Government today (Wednesday 25 May 2005), includes plans to assess the safety of alterations that allow for the use of LPG, and other fuels.

The Benefits of LPG Fuelled Vehicles

There are several benefits to looking into a buying an LPG fuelled van, or having your existing van converted to take LPG fuel. LPG stands for Liquified Petroleum Gases, a form of fuel that has slowly been saturating the market for just about every energy application there is. It’s all-purpose, clean-burning, portable and efficient - and by virtue of a lot of these things it can cut your fuel costs by 50% as it has a significantly cut fuel duty imposed on it by government. The government are also offering incentives for driving an LPG vehicle, including decreased taxation.

Ford is aiding buyers of bi-fuel Transits and Transit Connects able to run on LPG - liquefied petroleum gas - as well as petrol who risk being out of pocket because their PowerShift grants won’t be paid.

Fiat Doblo Cargo Gets a Makeover

The van will be getting a facelift towards the end of this year and there are mixed reactions to the change. The van now appears alot more like a car, the front end particularly - giving it a somewhat quirky style. This design change may also foreshadow the tastes of the upcoming overhaul for the Fiat range, which is expected in 2006. A new Punto Van will be created, along with replacements for the Scudo and Ducato.
