RVL Demonstrator Van Hits The Road
Refrigeration specialist RVL has added another vehicle to its demonstration fleet. With a gross vehicle weight of 6.5 tonne it features a single compartment insulated box body mounted onto a Renault Mascott chassis cab. It debuted at the CV Show earlier this year.
The 4,270mm long body has been specified for frozen or chilled operation and has been built to accommodate six Euro pallets. It features RVL’s five-element, insulated sandwich panels which are constructed using high specification, closed-cell insulation.
The load area has alloy plates along the side walls, the front bulkhead and both the side and rear doors to protect the insulation from damage. A stainless steel load retention system has also been fitted.
To enable the vehicle to be used for palletised loads, triple doors have been fitted to the full stainless steel rear frame.
A Carrier Xarios 600 two-piece direct drive unit with standby was selected to provide the required temperature range of -18ºC to +3ºC.
