New Citroen Berlingo Van And Multispace MPV On The Way

Citroen will launch the advanced all new Berlingo in mid 2008. Along with the forthcoming introduction of its new smaller stablemate, the Nemo, 2008 promises to be another great year of development and innovation for Citroen commercial vehicle operations.
This new generation Berlingo builds upon the outstanding success of the current model that, together with car versions, has sold over 1.75 million worldwide, making it the most successful commercial vehicle in Citroen´s history.
The new Berlingo is based on the C4 Picasso platform with a similar nose styling. It will offer a payload of up to 850kg, together with a load length and volume of 1.8m and 3.3m3 respectively, while the availability of an ‘Extenso’ modular cabin allows larger loads of 3m and 3.7m3 to be carried. The all new model, which can seat three, will provide an unbeatable combination of design and engineering innovation, together with major practical, functional and cost benefits.
Offering passenger car like levels of equipment, the new model will be available with features such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and hill start assist.
The launch of the New Berlingo follows those of new Relay, new Dispatch, the joint-winner of International Van of the Year 2008, and Citroën´s latest compact van, Nemo. Along with the Citroen C4 Van, the Citroen van and light commercial vehicle line-up offers professionals the largest and most complete line-up in its history, covering a wide range of needs, from 1.1 to 17 cubic metres of load volume and up to two tonnes of payload.
Along with the Berlingo Van, Citroen has announced first details of the all new Berlingo Multispace - the 2nd generation of a car that created, and has since dominated, the budget MPV market sector. This all new model that will go on sale in the second half of 2008, boasting stylish looks to bring Citroen´s successful formula right up to date.
The new Berlingo Multispace retains the ultra-functional family friendly character of the original, yet further strengthens its personality with dynamic, upmarket styling, saloon car levels of comfort and MPV style practicality. It also adds new convenience features such as an independently opening tailgate window, three separate removable rear seats and a redesigned Modutop® aircraft style overhead storage system.
