Mercedes-Benz Sprinter And Vito – The Measure Of All Things

The "KEP Van of the Year" competition organised by the ETM publishing house in Stuttgart was held recently for the seventh time. The jury consisted of professionals from the courier, express and parcel delivery (KEP) sector, and was made up of fleet managers and self-employed operators. The competition took place as part of the AMI automotive trade fair in Leipzig, with the winners announced during a formal dinner event.
Mercedes-Benz was represented in this well-established competition by both the current Sprinter and the Vito. The Sprinter was able to repeat the success it achieved last year, attaining the top rating in the "Van class up to 3.5 tonnes". The Mercedes-Benz Vito also convinced the jury of professionals, and once again headed the "Vans up to 2.8 tonnes" as in 2005.
The participating vehicles were assessed under realistic conditions on various test routes according to the criteria that are important for this business sector. Driving characteristics, comfort, practicality and economy were all noted on the assessment forms, which were completed after each journey. The winners were decided after two days of journeys totalling around 7000 kilometres.
