10) Abraham Van Helsing

Following the ‘success’ of our last Top 10 list, Van Guard have decided to create the second most-relevant-and-in-no-way-tedious-link-to-a-van chart. This time we are tackling famous people with ‘Van’ in their name, quite clearly the natural progression from actual vans I am sure you will agree. And even if you don’t, the next ten weeks will surely be a treat involving people who you can kind of remember ranked accordingly to some random decision by yours truly. Buckle down; it’s going to a bumpy ride….

In at 10 is the original fictional vampire killer himself, Abraham Van Helsing. Over the years Van Helsing has had numerous big and small screen outings being portrayed by great actors such as Anthony Hopkins, David Suchet and Laurence Olivier. Oh, and Hugh Jackman. Van Helsing’s sworn enemy is Dracula and the many outings of Van Helsing have usually had a lot to do with everyone’s favourite vampire, be in parody, TV or film settings. Other than vampire battling, he is also known to be a widely-respected scientist, doctor and lawyer, so even if the film career had not had taken off you feel he may have had something to fall back on.

So this begins our search to find the most famous Van man or woman. Let us know if you have any indication who will be king or queen of our list and if you yourself have a favourite person with van in their name (well you might?). Join us next week as we see who is more famous than the most-famous Vampire Hunter. No mean feat I think you would agree.
